Juniors set for big final

-

KOBE Miller will be one of the riders to watch at the Warwick Junior Rodeo on Saturday from 1pm at the Warwick Showgrounds.

The rodeo will be a forerunner to The Warwick Rodeo National Finals at the Warwick Showgrounds on October 26-29.

There will be seven events at the junior rodeo which is being partly organised by the Warwick High Schools Rodeo group, students keen on rodeo from three different Warwick secondary schools.

The group headed to Yeppoon last weekend for the St Brendan’s Rodeo and has secured the sponsorship for this Saturday’s junior rodeo in Warwick.

Miller is still a junior but is impressing at open level.

He often competes in the same roping team as his father Jeff, a past allaround-champion in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association.

This year, Kobe won the junior team roping heeler title in the APRA junior finals at Emerald. He is currently 17th in open standings.

He currently leads junior team roping heeler, junior breakaway roping and junior high point cowboy standings in the APRA.

Kobe will compete in the breakaway roping, team roping and junior dummy tying at the Warwick Junior Rodeo on Saturday.

There are 13 nominations for the junior barrel race.

Three boys and two girls have nominated for the junior steer ride.
