ROBYN Rolfe planted more than 3000 seedlings as part of her and partner Timo Sihvola’s award-winning garden.

Their Vale View garden was named as Country Reserve Grand Champion Garden in The Chronicle Garden Competition last night.

Ms Rolfe said their three-and-a-half acre formal garden featured statues, a dam, gazebo and many different plants including natives and conifers.

“It is just relaxing, peaceful and green. I love the birds that come in as well as kangaroos,” she said.

Ms Rolfe said the garden featured five different rooms joined by little pathways as well as a bridge crossing for the creek that runs through it.

There are even two rose gardens with about 116 plants coming into bloom.

Ms Rolfe said the award win was appreciation for what they had created which featured lots of different colours from the flowers to the foliage.

“It is reward for a lot of effort. We put in a lot of time because we love it,” she said.

Ms Rolfe and Mr Sihvola moved to the property about two years ago, and while there was an established garden already, it was in dire need of some love and attention.

A coffee van will be on site at the garden this year, to enjoy a walk through or even a high tea. Find it at 24 Stark Drive, Vale View.
