Friendships on the green

-

Jehnzen Buhulon

I MOVED here from Inglewood about five months ago.

What do I like about Toowoomba?

I love my bowls, I like the scenery and I love the air.

Keith Lindenmayer

I’VE been here for about six years.

I’m an ex-sheep farmer, but sheep got too quick for me.

I now live in Kingfisher Village in Toowoomba.

And I still can’t catch sheep. As for Toowoomba, oh, I like bowls - everything about the place, really.

Max Fitzgerald

I’VE been bowling about eight years.

I was asked would I like to play and I jumped at it, and I’ve never had a moment’s regret.

I’ve been in Toowoomba for about 10 years and as for bowls, I love the companionship, the camaraderie.

Henry Crothers

I MOVED to Toowoomba, mainly for family and friends, and I’ve been here about seven years. I’ve played bowls for about four yeras now.

Toowoomba’s a great spot, it’s got everything you want.

We’ve just finished playing social triples, but that doesn’t happen every Tuesday afternoon, just depends on the numbers.

John Lloyd

I’VE been retired for about eight years and playing bowls for about four of those years.

I used to be a grazier out at Chinchilla.

I took up bowls because I couldn’t play tennis, I had to give that away, so, um, I’m a pretty average player but I enjoy the game.

You’ve got to do something with your time – bowls is great exercise and the fresh air is good, so’s the company.
