Retail centre gets revamp
Westbrook to undergo big changes
A RETAIL centre in a growing Toowoomba suburb is getting a much-needed revamp to cater for its expanding population.
Westbrook Central Plaza will soon become Westbrook Central, undergoing a transformation which will bring the dawning of a new era.
The upgrade is set to include leasing opportunities for a variety of tenants including restaurants, cafes, convenience food, gym, allied health, real estate as well as a variety of businesses and professional services within the first floor office suites.
The complex will be transformed into a modern retail hub with a contemporary design while maintaining convenience.
Colliers International Toowoomba real estate agent Troy Anderson said the refurbishment would involve renovating both the current site and adding two
proposed stand alone tenants.
“The owners of the centre realise there are no major offerings in Westbrook and with the suburb growing they know more food and retail offerings are needed,” he said.
“We launched a letter-box drop survey, asking people to engage with us online and let us know what they want to see open in the centre and we are getting a great response.
“It’s good to see the community getting behind it. It’s clear people want more food outlets because we are getting suggestions such as Thai and Asian restaurants as well as take-away stores.”
Construction is set to begin in 2018 with a completion date in 2019.
