Squad settled as Wallabies eye Springboks

-

Wallabies coach Michael Cheika has confirmed his 32-man squad for the upcoming tour of South Africa and Argentina.

Reds flanker Adam Korczyk drops from the 33-man squad that was in Canberra last week, with Cheika (pictured) preferring a slightly smaller touring party for the games in Bloemfontein and Mendoza.

The squad remains otherwise unchanged with three uncapped players (Lukhan Tui, Billy Meakes and Izaia Perese) vying for their Wallabies debut over the next fortnight.

The Wallabies depart for Johannesburg today as they aim to go one better against the Springboks following the 23-all draw in Perth two weeks ago.

Australia last played in Bloemfontein in 2010, when they snatched a last-gasp 41-39 win thanks to a penalty kick after the siren from Kurtley Beale.

The Wallabies also tasted success on their last visit to Mendoza in 2015, after 14 points from the boot of Bernard Foley secured a 34-9 win at Estadio Malvinas Argentinas.

James Slipper (achilles), Dane Haylett-Petty (arm) and Jermaine Ainsley (foot) remain unavailable with injury while Sefa Naivalu (ankle) will make his return for the Rising in the NRC this weekend.

Wallabies squad: Allan Alaalatoa, Rory Arnold, Adam Coleman, Jack Dempsey, Tetera Faulkner, Ned Hanigan, Michael Hooper (c, Sekope Kepu, Sean McMahon, Stephen Moore, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Tom Robertson, Izack Rodda, Rob Simmons, Scott Sio, Lopeti Timani, Lukhan Tui, Jordan Uelese, Kurtley Beale, Israel Folau, Bernard Foley (vc), Will Genia (vc), Reece Hodge, Samu Kerevi, Marika Koroibete, Tevita Kuridrani, Billy Meakes, Izaia Perese, Nick Phipps, Joe Powell, Curtis Rona, Henry Speight
