Celebrity chef to MC awards
LOCKYER VALLEY: The Lockyer Valley Regional Council has announced its celebrity MC for the upcoming Lockyer Valley Business, Training and Apprenticeship awards.
Spanish-born chef who now calls Australia home Miguel Maestre will host the event next month.
Mr Maestre is the co-host of the Logie award-winning lifestyle program The Living Room, working alongside Amanda Keller, Dr Chris Brown and Barry DuBois.
He is also an accomplished author of two best-selling Spanish books Miguel’s Tapas and Spanish Cooking.
Mr Maestre has been awarded by His Majesty, The King of Spain the highest award a citizen can receive, The Order of Civil Merits, for his extraordinary service to the nation for the benefit of Spain in the Australian media.
He also works very closely with Cancer Council Australia and CARE Australia.
Lockyer Valley Mayor Tanya Milligan said the council was thrilled to welcome one of the country’s most prestigious celebrity chefs to the region for a line-up of events.
“Miguel will not only MC our Business Awards, but will then follow-up on the Sunday with an exclusive cooking school and sit-down lunch,” Cr Milligan said.
“Miguel’s love of food and people really shines through and I’m confident the region’s business community will see that when he hosts the event next month.
“We look forward to welcoming him to the region for what’s sure to be an exciting weekend.”
Tickets will go on sale on Thursday and are available for purchase from the council’s Lake Apex Visitor Information Centre at a cost of $110.
