Chocolate, cocktail bar opens
Opening date for The Moose
IT IS the announcement residents have been waiting for - an opening date for the city’s new chocolate parlour and cocktail bar.
The Moose will open its doors tomorrow, after first revealing the store’s plans at the beginning of the month.
It will operate out of Walton Stores with the entry off the laneway, adjacent to Harajuku Gyoza.
The Moose is a chocolate parlour/dessert restaurant by day and a cocktail bar by night.
People have been waiting patiently for the store to open, with The Moose’s Facebook page flooded with messages inquiring about it.
Owner Aaron Goldie travelled around the world to find inspiration, coming up with the idea for The Moose after living in Canada.
Ingredients and machinery are also inspired by places around the world with the gelato being imported from Italy, churros imported from Spain, chocolate tempering machines from France and
the chocolate itself will come from Belgium.
Mr Goldie said there would be a number of different delicious
dessert items, including Nutella on tap.
“I lived in Canada for a while and there is a hugely-popular dessert
chain there that is nothing like what we have in Australia,” he said.
“We’ll have a lot of dessert-based cocktails so
stuff you’ve never seen before.”
