Chiropractor to help those with common issue

A TOOWOOMBA chiropractor is on a mission to help and educate those who are struggling with stress.

Dr James MacKay said a lot of people had issues with their health and if they had more information about how the body worked, then they would be happier.

“I am really passionate about educating people on health,” he said.

“The title doctor means teacher and I take that quite seriously.”

Dr MacKay said nowadays we were busier than ever, and at HealthGuard Wellness they looked at stress holistically and looked at all sides of it - chemical, physical and mental.

“The most important one is the one your are struggling with at the moment,” he said.

“We all struggle with stress. Some causes are out of our control, but what is in our control is how we respond to, and cope with, stress.”

Dr MacKay said emotional stress had a huge impact on physical health and he wanted to be able to help the community better handle the stresses of life so they were no longer limited and restricted by health, going from stress to strength.

He explained HealthGuard Wellness used an approach called Neuro Emotional Stress Relief Technique.

The purpose of it is to address the physical impact of emotional stress. Dr MacKay said it was a safe and quick stress relief technique based on scientific principles with excellent clinical results since its inception in 1988.

“Emotions such as anger, fear and grief are all very normal but sometimes our bodies fail to ‘let go’ of this stress and we develop negative stress patterns,” he said.

“For some people, this can look like reoccurring physical ailments such as headaches, back pain or digestive issues.

“It can also look like destructive beliefs or self-sabotaging behaviours. NET is designed to help people let go of these stuck stress patterns.”

Dr MacKay will host a free wellness workshop called Stress to Strength to share this technique.

”I really do love it. I enjoy my role as a clinician and teaching and educating people. It brings a bit of variety to my work,” he said.

”If you are struggling with stress at work or home or had a stressful event in recent past and you feel like your energy levels are coming down and affecting other areas of health, you should come along.”

The workshop will be held at HealthGuard Wellness tomorrow from 6pm to 6.45pm.
