Gun control

-

ALREADY writers are posting their views on gun control after the catastrophe in Las Vegas, Nevada.

All sorts of unfounded remarks are made about the US “gun culture” and President Trump.

Perhaps these accusers should do a little research prior to these knee-jerk reactions to events in another country, which has suffered two violent civil wars with hatred initiated by politicians, and where brother fought and killed brother, while “peaceful” Australia has not suffered any of these terrible events.

My research indicates that in many mass homicides, the perpetrator is of unsound mind and on serious psychotic medication (including Martin Bryant of Port Arthur.)

Many scientific studies now prove that the side-effects of these drugs produce hatred, and suicidal violent behaviour in the patient, mostly against crowds.

So if the complainers want to find the real culprits in mass homicide, perhaps it ought to be those practitioners prescribing these dangerous drugs.

The prescribed drug epidemic in the United States is out of control, and has proven to be influential in thousands of suicides and homicides, (and it is escalating rapidly in Australia as well), so we could even accuse the drug conglomerates, but would you dare?

I believe there are more important issues requiring immediate attention in Australia, one of the many being the level of child abuse in Australia.

During the 2015 – 2016 year, there were 162,175 Child Protection Orders in Australia, which to me indicates an extremely sorry state of our nation. So, how many were there which were not reported. Probably on estimate 10-times that number. (Almost 200,000 little lives ruined for a lifetime).

But does anybody care? Well, we know that apart from the workers in the role of caring for these kids, nobody cares.

People would rather call other leaders and countries derogatory names rather that tidy up their own backyard. — BRIAN SAYERS, Millmerran
