Super Cash will be on the money

RACING: The buzz may be building around Chautauqua’s pursuit of the $10 million prizemoney in The Everest, but a mare who left the grey flash in her wake during the autumn is resuming at Caulfield today.

Super Cash scorched a field including Chautauqua in the Rubution Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield in February and finds herself running over the same trip in the Group 2 Schillachi Stakes.

The punters have not missed the Andrew Noblet-trained sprinter and she is a TAB $5 second favourite behind Sheidel ($3.50) as she looks for a second Group 2 win.

Super Cash’s efforts after her Rubiton win included eighth in a crack field in the Newmarket and then a bemusing run in Adelaide where she ran 10th in a 20-horse field in the Group 1 Sangster Stakes at Morphettville in May.

Jockey Katelyn Mallyon, who was aboard Super Cash when she won at Caulfield earlier this year, expects more of the same when she gets back to her preferred track and distance today.

“This mare has so much ability and last prep we didn’t get to see the best of her in Adelaide,” Mallyon said,

“Now she’s back to Caulfield, over the 1100 metres where she thrashed I Am a Star and superstar grey Chautauqua in the autumn.

“Her jump-outs have been excellent and Andrew Noblet has kept her nice and fresh just like last time when she went out the underdog and proved way too strong.”
