Bull WIN, 7.30pm

If you teetered on changing the channel while watching the first season of Bull, starring the charismati­c Michael Weatherly (NCIS), the premiere of season two tonight will give you hope. Returning with a new showrunner in Glenn Gordon Caron (Medium), the series shifts gears to a welcome focus on the characters at the Trial Analysis Corporatio­n. “One of the things I enjoy doing is exploring characters and bringing more humanity to things,” enthuses Caron. In “School For Scandal”, Bull (Weatherly) joins the district attorney in a case against a woman who claims to have killed her husband.

MOVIE: Terminator 2: Judgment Day 7MATE, 8.30pm, M (1991)

James Cameron’s all-conquering sequel to his 1984 sci-fi classic occupies the same iconic status as Stanley Kubrick’s

2001 and George Lucas’s Star Wars series. Arnold Schwarzene­gger returns as the cyborg protagonis­t – like the tin man in search of a heart – to defend the Connor family (Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong) against a liquid-metal killing machine (Robert Patrick), and hence, prevent a nuclear apocalypse. Like Arnie’s classic phrase, “I’ll be back”, to be short and to the point, the special effects are extraordin­ary.

The Doctor Blake Mysteries ABC, 8.30pm

Religion and gambling come in to play in this dark investigat­ion for Blake (Craig McLachlan, pictured) when a retired carpenter is found murdered. The case will bring to light some uncomforta­ble feelings for Lawson (Joel Tobeck), who has a complicate­d family history with gambling. Meanwhile, Jean’s (Nadine Garner) insider knowledge of the town helps steer Blake in the right direction. It doesn’t help that Jean can’t shake the feeling that sh is being watched.
