The young woman has gained thousands of online followers by recording cover songs and released her first original song Trust Me on iTunes in 2015.

Ms Crotty is competing against seven other hopefuls, collaborating, creating and sharing music videos. They are then uploaded to YouTube and their fans’ likes, views, comments and shares will determine the winner.

In the first music video of the competition Ms Crotty sang Pursuit of Happiness.

In 15 hours the music video had 4200 views and rising.

She is already ahead of her competition with duo Take That coming in with the second highest views, on 3200.

Ms Crotty said she was so excited to be part of something that could change her life.
