Optus delivers fresh communication options for Homestyle Bake directors

-

HAVING trouble with your telco?

Not happy with their service, systems or pricing structures?

Sadly, it’s an all-too-familiar story for local businesses and a scenario that confronted Homestyle Bake two years ago.

But, rather than let inefficiencies continue to impact on their company, production director Lindsay Weber (who bought into the business in 1994), finance director David Nicoll (2013) and sales director Brett Pascoe (2008) started looking for a better way of doing business.

And that led them to Optus.

That relationship has now grown to a powerful partnership which is seeing the company continue to go from strength to strength – growing from a small family concern to an industry leader with more than 150 employees.

“With so many staff around the state, eight area managers and a host of vendors on the road each day, our communication has to be first class,” Mr Pascoe said.

“Our new Optus system reflects that.”

“It provides the important link between all our offices and is a smart cost option catering to our mobile and NBN needs,” Mr Nicoll added.

“And most importantly, it’s all at a cheaper rate than we were previously provided.”

Mr Weber said the decision to switch to Optus had allowed all staff to concentrate on doing what they do best – baking and delivering a variety of award-winning products that cater for both mainstream and niche markets.

“Optus works with us as we work with our customers – developing relationships and providing the best possible service,” he said.

“We’re constantly focusing on our family culture and values, but also take great pride in seeing that we have grown from a regional to a national supplier in four years.

“The system is flexible and will grow as we grow. And that gives us confidence.”

With the second range crossing, inland rail and new Wellcamp airport adding vital infrastructure to the region, Mr Pascoe said Toowoomba was set to boom as an economic hub and Homestyle Bake was keen to be a part of that evolution.

“Optus has looked after us well and provided the right equipment and advice for our business to continue to be innovative and relevant in the years to come.”

Optus is here and committed to Regional Australia! They committed further investment across the Darling Downs as part of a major push to boost competition and showcase its telecommunications and entertainment offerings, and business services in regional Australia.

Optus has earmarked new mobile tower investment across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs over the next 18 months with Clifford Gardens, Toowoomba CBD South and the Airport Bypass all to receive new towers in addition to a further 9 towers planned for the greater Darling Downs.

Optus chief executive officer Allen Lew said, “Regional centres need strong mobile networks to attract new business and industries to the region, open up national and international trade markets and in turn, support improved employment opportunities and the local economy.

“Importantly, a strong telecommunications network supports local industry and key services like healthcare and education, while providing competition and choice for residents, business and visitors to those communities.”

Optus has continued to prioritise regional Australia as part of its network investment program with more than $10 million invested across Toowoomba, the broader Darling Downs and Warwick over the past 12 months.
