- Meghan Harris meghan.harris@thechronicle.com.au

WITH so many new restaurants opening in Toowoomba, the options are endless when choosing where to dine out.

But when The Chronicle asked its readers what their favourite restaurant was, the old favourites shone through.

Little Seed Restaurant at 100 Russell St, formerly known as Firefly, was voted the best restaurant in town, with people unable to go past its delicious food and great atmosphere.

Sofra Turkish Cuisine and Ice ‘N’ Spice were also popular choices.

Since reopening after its temporary closure earlier this year, Little Seed took a more food-conscious direction and it appears to have paid off.

Breakfast dishes include green breakfasts, smoothie bowls, granola and buckwheat pancakes.

For lunch you can choose from veggie burgers, basil and paprika bowls, curries and chickpea flatbread.

Dinners have delicious options like fried cauliflower wings and crumbed risotto cakes.

The restaurant’s famous home made hot chocolate is back and appropriately named “Best Ever Hot

Chocolate”.

Susan McEwin said: “At Little Seed Restaurant the food simply tastes so good. I love how they are building in the sustainability aspect by growing their own out the

front and sourcing healthy organic options.”

Andrew Millist said: “Without a doubt, Little Seed Restaurant. Best food and atmosphere.”

Matthew Chiaravalle said:

“Little Seed Restaurant is cruelty free, organic and served with kindness.”

Mel Dixon said: “Little Seed’s food is amazing. Best coffee in the universe.”

Sofra Turkish Cuisine at 164 Margaret St is known for its Middle Eastern and Turkish food and is almost always booked out so it is a good idea to call and book a table in advance.

It also serves a traditional Turkish breakfast on weekends with items such as kaymak which is sweet clotted cream, which is then combined with honeycomb and spread over warm bread.

Kate Phillips said: “I love Sofra. So delicious and an amazing atmosphere.”

Indian restaurant Ice ‘N’ Spice regularly appears in

The Chronicle’s top dining lists, also being the best rated Toowoomba restaurant on TripAdvisor.

There are two stores at Northlands Shopping Centre and High Street Shopping Centre.

Jase Wheeler said: “Ice N Spice at Northlands Shopping Centre. Best Indian food ever and I have eaten a lot, trust me.”
