New sports editor joins The Chronicle
THE CHRONICLE welcomes new sports editor Jason Gibbs to their editorial team this Sunday.
The Toowoomba local, who previously enjoyed a stint as a designer and sub-editor with The Chronicle, said he was looking forward to taking on the position.
“Toowoomba and the Darling Downs have a rich sporting history and one of the strongest sporting communities I have ever seen,” Gibbs said.
“I’m excited to be part of The Chronicle again. I have a great team to work with and I can’t wait to make myself known and start writing.”
Gibbs has been employed by News Regional Media for more than 10 years in a variety of roles, but sport has always been his passion.
“I started my career as a cadet in Kingaroy and in any given week I could be reporting on drug busts, interviewing farmers or covering council,” he said.
“But my favourite days were always when I was on sideline of local games with notepad and camera in ON BOARD: The Chronicle has welcomed new sports editor Jason Gibbs to their editorial team.

“The thing I love about sport is everyone is involved because they love it.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage members of the sporting community to make themselves known to me.
“I want to further strengthen The Chronicle’s ties with our sporting communities and do my part to promote sport.”
