New night venue opens its doors

THE city’s newest night venue opened its doors last night, after extensive renovations to the site.

Society opened at the former building of Agenda nightclub after the new owners took over at the start of the month.

For the past four weeks Ben Quach, 27, and Joe Murray, 23 have been putting in 15 hour days in a bid to get Society ready for the opening weekend.

“It really looks spectacular. It doesn’t feel like the old Agenda at all,” Mr Quach said.

“It still has three rooms and one caters to the younger demographic who like the nightclub scene.

“The other two rooms we are keeping under wraps and want people to come and see for themselves what they are all about.

“But what I can say is one is a cocktail bar called the Secret Garden and the other room is called Velvet.”

The hype around the opening weekend has been huge and last night all VIP booths were booked out and are also booked out tonight.

Mr Quach said it was a tough few weeks with renovations happening around the clock but it was

worth it.

He said he and Mr Murray were pumped to open.

“We have had really good feedback with so many people getting in touch in the lead up to find out what is happening,” he said.

“There has been heaps of excitement around it and we are super excited to be opening.”

Mr Quach said the pair had some cool ideas for the future that would integrate the business with the Toowoomba community.

Society is at 12 Russell St and is open Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm.
