I T’S THE END FOR ROACHES

Cockroaches are one of the most hated pests in our homes.

It is unfortunate that they are among the hardest pest control jobs.

There are actually more than 3500 known species of roaches found all over the world.

They consume human foodstuffs as well as contaminate them with saliva and excrement.

But there are a few ways to get rid of them.

Sanitation and preparation are definitely one of the most critical steps to getting rid of cockroaches and preventing them.

Eliminating what attracts cockroaches such as food sources and water sources is a vital way of getting rid of the pest.

Clean your kitchen appliances (especially the crumbs in the bottom of the toaster, cockroaches love that), empty and clean cabinets, limit consumption of food to one room in the house, clean the kitchen thoroughly each night before bed and keep rubbish bins clean and covered.

Cockroaches hate peppermint oil. Buy it from your local supermarket or health food store.

Once benches are sparkling clean, apply a little of the oil to a clean cloth (not watered down), and rub it over smooth surfaces.

Peppermint oil will not kill cockroaches but is effective in deterring them.

Another more hard- core solution that can kill cockroaches includes gel bait stations. Cockroaches eat the bait, which will ideally kill them, but not right away.

As these cockroaches defecate, other roaches eat their faeces and become poisoned. Bait stations are another popular method.
