THE Nobby State School turns 120 this year.

To celebrate the school is holding an open day with market stalls and fun activities.

The day will begin with a Remembranc­e Day service at 10.30am and markets and activities from 11.15am to 3.30pm.

3. Crave Food Festival

WHEN: Today, 5.30pm WHERE: Mary MacKillop Catholic College Primary Campus

CRAVE Food Festival is an open to the public, family friendly, gourmet food event held on the second Saturday evening of every month, hosted by the Mary MacKillop Catholic College Parents and Friends Associatio­n.

Come along and sample from a wide range of food vendors and enjoy a family friendly movie and entertainm­ent.

Check out the amazing goods on offer at the Highfields Village Markets and then wander across to the College to enjoy a casual dinner (and a glass of wine), with all the family catered for.

Bring your picnic rug and relax while you listen to some music or watch the family friendly films on the outdoor

screen.

4. Space Pilots Model Rocket Launch WHEN: Today, 1.30pm WHERE: TARMAC model aircraft field, New England Highway

WHY not do something different and spend a leisurely few hours watching some colourful, well-crafted rockets being launched.

It's fun to count down and watch the Space Pilots rockets zoom upwards in a plume of smoke.

5. Charity golf day WHEN: Tomorrow, from 7am WHERE: Pittsworth Golf Club

THE Pittsworth Leukaemia Foundation Group is hosting a charity golf day.

All funds from the event will be donated to the Leukaemia Foundation to help support blood cancer patients.

The competitio­n fee is $20. The 9 hole competitio­n will start at 7am and the 18 hole competitio­n at noon.

6. Diverse Performing Arts Showcase

WHEN: Today, 6.30pm for 7pm start

WHERE: Oakey State High School Multi Purpose Hall

OAKEY’S community dance crew RIGG'D is holding its annual charity production this weekend.

Money raised will go to The McGrath Foundation to assist with research into breast cancer.

Come along and enjoy a night of dance, singing, acting, raffles and more. A canteen will be available during intermissi­on.

Tickets are $15 for adults or $5 for students.

7. Don’t Dress for Dinner

WHEN: Today, 7.30pm WHERE: Toowoomba Repertory Theatre SEE the fabulous play Don’t

Dress for Dinner and help raise some funds for Lions Youth Exchange Student Harry Schatz who is off overseas on a Lions Youth Exchange program.

Seats are limited so bookings are recommende­d.

Ticket cost is $25 and includes beverages and supper.

8. Oaks RACF Open Day WHEN: Today, 9am to noon WHERE: 56 Locke St, Warwick

THE Oaks RACF in Warwick is holding Open Garden event, which is the major fundraiser for the residents.

The gardens are open but the home is not open to the general public for residents privacy.

Entry is $10 and includes Devonshire tea.

9. Boneyard Run The Movie WHEN: Today, 1pm

WHERE: Farmers Arms Cabarlah, Highfields

BONEYARD Run The Movie, at it’s heart, is an uplifting feel good film.

The film is centred around George and Thomas, a couple of 20-something year old local blokes and their burning desire to drive the infamous truck destroying tracks of the Cape York peninsula.

The only issue is just like their vehicles, they’re broke.

See the movie tonight at the Farmers Arms Cabarlah, Highfields.

10. MS Swimathon WHEN: Today WHERE: Highfields Aquatic

Centre

HIGHFIELDS Aquatic Centre staff is joining together to make a splash during this weekend’s MS Swimathon.

Teams swim together (relay style) for 12 hours, raising funds for those living with Multiple Sclerosis in their local community.

Teams participat­ing in the event strive to raise $35,000.
