THE Flexi School Awards Day and formal was a reminder of what could be achieved by young people when they persist and had the courage to take on new challenges said Toowoomba Flexi School head of department Jo Brennan.
The school’s annual awards day was held on Thursday morning at the Empire Church Theatre, which was full to capacity, and 23 Year 12 graduates were awarded their Queensland Certificate of Education, making it a 100 per cent attainment rate for the school.
Emma Klein was awarded the top Year 12 Achievement Award, the 2017 Dux of Flexi School and Year 11 student Sage Wylie received the $1000 John Armstrong Bursary presented by patron of Flexi Gayle Armstrong.

Ms Brennan said after the awards ceremony, all Year 12 students went to change into formal attire and returned at 5.30pm for the red carpet walk for their Hollywood themed formal.
“The night was spectacular with live music by the Flexi Band and local artists performing,” she said.
“Students celebrated with their families and the Flexi staff to make this a very special occasion to celebrate the completion of their schooling.
“Proud parents and carers joined the graduates in a three course dinner and then danced the night away creating special memories and reflecting on the year.”
