Exhibition celebrates journey
FOR Goombungee district photographic artist Trish Raynham, love of photography is about being able to capture a moment in time.
“Which, for me, becomes eternal, forever to be seen,” she said.
“A single image can encompass and express so many different emotions.”
Ms Raynham’s work is currently on display in the Rosalie Gallery at 89 Mocatta St, Goombungee.
The exhibition, entitled The Journey - Coming home, celebrates both her passion for her homeland and her local community.
The first part, “The Journey”, features images captured on a 12-month reconnaissance trip wandering the different landscapes of Australia with her partner Otto.
“Our aim was to identify whether the grass was greener somewhere other than Goombungee to retire,” she said.
The second part, “Coming Home” is about the magical little town of Goombungee and the people that live there.
Images in the exhibition have been transposed and mounted on numerous types of media including wood, metal, canvas, fine art paper, gloss paper, acrylic and layered media as well as display books and a slide show.
Ms Raynham first became interested in photography in the 1990’s taking photographs of her son and his friends playing hockey.
She has also been involved in exhibitions, wedding, travel, family and portrait photography, special events and facilitated courses.
The exhibition is on display until Sunday, November 26.
The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
