Association
Last week saw the Downs District hosting a visit from the Burnett District. What a happy crowd of mixed bowlers they were, with lots of laughter on and off the green. Thank you to the two host clubs, Drayton and Toowoomba for your hospitality and friendship towards our visitors. Thanks also to the Downs clubs that availed themselves of the opportunity to play against another District in a friendly game of bowls. Some of the winners were, H. Johnson (Yarraman) A. Faulkner (Gayndah), D. Croft, ( Murgon), M McKenna (Toowoomba): L. Reck (Gatton), M. Jones (Pittsworth), J. McCormack (Biggenden), F. Hunter (Drayton). Thanks also to the organisers behind the scenes for making this 2-day visit most enjoyable for all who participated. Monday/Tuesday, November 13/14: DDLBA 2 Day Carnival is being held this week, the first day at West Toowoomba, second day at Drayton. Good bowling to all those who have nominated for this event: A report on this Carnival will be in next weeks notes with photos and winners. Monday, November 27: The DDLBA Past President’s lunch has now been cancelled, a get together is planned for the New Year.

Our President and Members day will be Sunday, December 3 and the theme will be A Day at the Races. 10am start. Lunch at 1pm. Our break-up for this year will be at Hockey club Friday, December 15 at 11.30am please notify Maree before Friday, December 8 if you would like to attend. Our last day of bowls for the year will be Friday, December 8.
Combined Services
Our Combined Christmas party break-up will be held at the Hockey Club Sunday, November 19 at 12 o’clock. If you are unable to attend please phone Helen on 4632 2867.

Oakey
Our monthly meeting will be held at 9am today, followed by bowls. The December meeting will be our last for the year and the Christmas Party will follow.
Pittsworth
A game of constancy was played last week with P.Talbot d R.Drummond. A game of pairs was not played owing to unfortunate circumstances. This week will be a trophy day followed by a meeting. Thursday, November 23 a game of chship pairs will be now played. J.Hintz/T.Ehlers v M.Hughes/S.Elsden. Sunday, November 26 a free “come and try day” will be held, starting time 1pm with a sausage sizzle following play. So bring a friend, next door neighbour, or interested relative along for a fun afternoon. What you have not got in the way of bowls etc can be supplied. The club would like to take this opportunity to thank all who helped with the successful Melbourne Cup afternoon and all the guests who supported us.

November 24- Ladies asked to bring a plate to share for a special birthday lunch. December 1 - Club Graded and Drawn Triples - three Games of nine ends. Social bowls every Friday, mixed or otherwise. Names in by 8.45am, play 9.15am. Every Tuesday at 1pm mixed or otherwise Jackpot pairs and every Saturday Triples or pairs depending on numbers.
