THE star of superhero movie Justice League said humanity was facing an “existential crisis” and could be wiped off the face of the planet if we didn’t address climate change and nuclear war.

Ezra Miller, 25, who plays Barry Allen aka The Flash in the Justice League movie due to be released this month said, “there’s no guarantee that humanity will be here in 100 years or 200 years, because we are facing real existential threats”.

“Those threats come from us. We’ve created climate change. We’ve created the threat of nuclear war. We have to overcome differences in order to get over that otherwise it’s game over on humanity.”

Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot, 32, agreed, saying the supervillains the DC Comics characters faced were a cheesy allegory for real-world problems.

“We don’t fight monsters. We don’t have alien attacks. It’s us creating the problem. It would have been wonderful if somehow us humans could get together and come together and just do good to each other in terms of trying to make the world a better place.”

As for whether the Amazonian heroine or her alter ego, Diana Prince, would ever fall victim to a real-world Weinstein-style harassment scandal, Gadot was clear.

“I don’t think Wonder Woman would ever let anyone use his power against her will. Her will is very strong and so is she,” she said.

Speaking in London ahead of the launch of the all-star film that includes Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Henry Cavill as an unconfirmed Superman, the stars said it felt “surreal” to be “geeking out” at finally seeing each other in costume.

“I never imagined I would be sitting up here with all these superheroes,” said Henry Cavill, 34, still sporting his contractually obliged “pornmoustache” from the Mission Impossible movies. “They are superheroes in the movie, and they are superheroes in real life and it’s a real honour to be sitting here.”

Self-described “big kid” of the bunch Momoa, 38, perhaps best known for his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, told how he followed around Ben Affleck “pulling on his cape” on set
