This weekend is our visit from Brighton Barracudas Social Bowlers. Saturday’s game starts at 1pm and the cost is $8. Sunday’s game starts at 10am and the cost is $5. We need 24 mixed bowlers to match them. Please put your names on the sheet now because we still require 20 more players. Winners of the 2016 Mixed Pairs competition were Dean McCarthy and Joan Coutts. They defeated Bill O’Callaghan and Moya Mitchell in the final. The second round of the A Grade Singles is to be played, sub or forfeit by Sunday, December 10. Games are: Shayne Moore v Andrew Talbot (winner to play Roscoe Ireland in second round); Bill Derrick v Bill Hughes (winner to play Ray Madsen in second round); Brad Hudson v Adam Prentice (winner to play Ken Coutts in second round); Lionel Moore v Jon King; Mark Crighton v Dean McCarthy; Darby Coutts v Shane Greentree; Ron Briskey v Macca; Scott Tweedie v Rob Leyden. Please note: The above includes three first-round games which will have to be played in time for the relevant second-round games to be completed by the above date. Remember, Sunday, November 26 is our barefoot “Come and Try” Day, starting at 1pm and finishing approximately 3pm. This will be followed by a sausage sizzle and is a totally free day. Everybody is welcome to come along and give bowls a go. Ring the club on 4693 1041 to place your name on the sheet or be at the Club by 12.15pm to get your name in for selection. Children are also welcome. Members’ Draw is $340. Nominations for the 2017 Mixed Pairs competition close on November 30, so get your team together and put them on the sheet.
