Last weekend it was back to back victories for the fours team of Steve and Blair Merrell, Darby Coutts and Shane Greentree, as the combination took out the K & R Plumbing Supplies Grundon Fours Bowls Carnival by the narrowest of margins. Twenty two teams battled it out over the two days for the $5,000 prize money on offer from K & R Plumbing Supplies and Forbes Batteries, playing five games over 16 ends. Steve’s team finished undefeated with five wins and a total margin of 52. One shot back were a mixed North’s and West Toowoomba team of Hayden Vogler, Jake Rynne, Graham Elton and Gary Gray. Many thanks to both sponsors for a very successful carnival that attracted many great bowlers from throughout the region on greens magnificently prepared. Thanks also goes to our lady and men’s volunteers who assisted with the many chores required to run a carnival. As mentioned earlier, our greenkeeper David requires volunteers to top dress the bottom green next Monday morning from 6am for approx. 45 minutes. The next Management Committee meeting is Saturday, November 25 from 9am. We have our social media page up and running again so why not “Like us on Facebook.
