Team right on the target

Target Grand Central, 9am, Wednesday

Gaye Qualischefski

I’VE lived here all my life and I’ve been here at this store and this store only for 35 years.

I mostly worked in the kidswear department – it’s my favourite department.

I like to spend my spare time fishing with my husband and going to the Gold Coast to our caravan.

How’s the business changed over the past 35 years?

People change and everything changes with it. I’ve seen a lot of people come and go.

What do I like about Toowoomba? It’s an easy living town. Not too hot, not too cold.

Erica Tillack

I’VE BEEN at Target for 17 years. I’ve basically worked everywhere. I’m now working in customer experience.

I’ve lived in Toowoomba all my life. I started here with work experience, and got a job through that. I did my two traineeships and been here ever since.

In my spare time I enjoy reading - anything that comes along seeing my family and spending time with them, and friends as well. I’m actually studying at the moment through TAFE online, a Cert III in business administration, just for a change.

My favourite part about living in Toowoomba is... everything’s close together and you don’t have to travel.

Maddie Linnett

MY FAMILY moved here when I was one, from Townsville.

My father was in the army so we were posted here, then we’ve lived here ever since.

I started here in 2011 while I was in high school. I’ve worked here full time since I was 17.

Make-up is more of a passion of mine and that’s really good and I get to work in the cosmetic section so I get to express that. They’re very supportive of that.

What do I like about Toowoomba? There’s always something to do. I have four young nieces and absolutely love spending time with them.

Emily Cavanagh

I’VE lived here since I was born. I’m currently studying mechatronics engineering in QUT Brisbane. I started here in June and graduated school last year.

I study part time so I have two days a week part time and then rest of the time I’m working here.

What’s mechatronics engineering like? It’s pretty good, just a lot of maths at the moment.

I got into engineering because my school was running an engineering class and they promoted it, and I have a friend who is studying mechatronics engineering in his final year and he made it sound pretty cool.

What do I like about Toowoomba? I just like that it’s quiet and kind of peaceful. In Brisbane everything’s moving and very loud, whereas here it’s easier to relax.
