Power of words showcased at USQ
WILLIAM Wordsworth said “fill your paper with the breathings of your heart” and this sentiment echoed out over USQ’s School of Arts and Communication’s recent book launch.
Twelve authors were recognised for their published works at the get-together highlighting USQ’s research, scholarship and literary talents on November 8.
Associate Professor Andrew Hickey, coordinator for research and research training in the School of Arts and Communication, said the school had a strong record of book publications, with notable histories, theoretical and creative works having been produced in recent months.
“The significance of monographs and book publications to humanities is clear, and the output on show here is indicative of the high level of scholarship and research that we’ve undertaken,” he said.

The Law and Pleasure, Associate Professor Laurie Johnson’s Shakespeare’s Lost Playhouse, Associate Professor Janet McDonald and Dr Robert Mason’s Creative Communities ,Dr Caryn Coatney’s John Curtin, Dr Jessica Gildersleeve and Richard
Gehrmann’s Memory and the Wars on Terror ,Dr Jessica Gildersleeve’s Christos Tsiolkas and Don’t Look Now, Dr Nike Sulway’s Dying in the First Person, and Associate Professor Andrew Hickey’s The Pedagogies of Cultural Studies.
