RACE 1

The bookies had to wait to lay District and then the money came at 4.6 with one bet of $1500 each way at the price. There was specking for Sir Bam at 14. The winner Mandela Dream was 4.6 at jump time and connection­s had $500 each way at the odds for the bookies to break square on the race.

Race 2

Here the bookies got to lay most of the runners for small money. The winner Grey Steyne was backed from 2.25 into 2 to give the bookies a bad result.

RACE 3

A quite betting race. The favourite Over The Venture was easy to lay at 3, with one bet of $1000 at that figure. There was specking for War Front at 9 and there was no support for the winner Brumby Jack who went to the barriers at 14.

Race 4

Punters only wanted the one runner in Red Mako. There was a cash bet of $1200 at 2 and lots of smaller bets at the same figure. This was a bad result for the bookies.

Race 5

There was good money for Selfie at 5, with a phone bet of $1000 at that figure. The Currie Army took the 1.8 on offer for winner Iron George. There was a phone bet of $3000 at 1.8 and good cash on track at the same figure. This race was another bad result for the bookies.

Race 6

There was specking for Koa Nuni at odds. Dream of France was easy to lay at 9 and there was on track money for Rosie’s Tiara at 10. The winner Spurcraft was specked on track at 6 and then the money went on off course to see it start at 4.

Race 7

Another quite betting race. There was small money for Proud’s Seque and Torqato Tass saw money at 10. The winner Solo Artist was backed heavily pre post at as much as 31. There was late movement on track from 6 to start at 4.4.

Race 8

The last was a non-betting race. There was specking for Shadow Empire at 31 and the winner Bold Temptation was 26 to 17 off course and was 26 with the bookies at jump time. Overall the bookies went home small winners on the night.

The trainers

Lindsay Hatch was the only trainer to secure more than one win (two).
