Hear and Say supports locals

-

HEAR and Say is pleased to announce that it now has 65 families across Queensland with new NDIS plans.

These families, of children with hearing loss, are using this funding support to obtain a specialised mix of programs in line with their child’s specific needs.

Through Hear and Say these children can receive a range of services such as audiology support, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and access to social skills development programs.

As with any new program, there are questions about the types and level of funding support families can receive from the NDIS and this is where Hear and Say can help.

“We have worked very closely with our Darling Downs families to answer their questions, and to assist them to navigate the new scheme and provide support for the planning process,” said listening and spoken language specialist Anna Warby at the Hear and Say Toowoomba Centre.

Hear and Say began 25 years ago providing a family-centred service for children diagnosed with hearing loss with the aim of giving every child the best access to sound, speech and language. Today the program has expanded to reach out to more children, and not just those with hearing loss.

“With our new centre at 295 Ruthven St, we can now help children who have developmental issues and where speech therapy or occupational therapy can assist,” Ms Warby said.

If you have concerns about your child’s hearing, social or physical development contact Hear and Say on 3850 2111.
