SPORTS psychologist Georgia Ridler has some impressive career highlights.

From mentoring cycling legend Anna Meares along her path to Olympic victory, to becoming lead sports psychologist for Australia’s 2016 Olympic swim squad, Georgia is a force to be reckoned with. With three USQ degrees under her belt, Georgia knows what it takes to create champions. “USQ helped me to expose the best version of myself and, now, I am able to do that for others.” While studying her Bachelor degree, Georgia was elected president of the USQ Student Guild. “By the time I finished my undergrad, I had engaged in a range of activities through the Student Guild and had built some solid leadership and sports management skills,” she said.

Georgia went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Psychology before taking a gap year to travel and coach overseas - and during this time was informed that USQ was commencing the Masters of Sport Psychology. “The rest is history,” she said. Georgia is now bracing for the next step of her journey: the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. “The short term focus is on Tokyo 2020 and ensuring that our team has mentally prepared our swimmers for the Olympics and the hype leading into the games,” Georgia said. “At the same time, we are already developing our youth for the 2024 Olympics by integrating mental preparation skills into their training.”
