Mega store

-

WHAT a great letter from Chris Meibush (“New store”).

He reflected my sentiments exactly and probably the thoughts of many, many residents.

Bunnings should have located out towards Highfields where the area is developing.

There was no need for Bunnings to build on Ruthven and Bridge. I will not support that megastore. I will continue to shop at Mitre 10 across the street where service by

knowledgeable and friendly staff is prompt and caring.

Yes, Mr Meibush, I totally agree with everything you have said but hey, who cares? No one.

The town hall is only interested in the money it can generate from permits, property taxes and vehicular right-of-way.

No thought is given to the heritage buildings razed to the ground, no thought to the trees destroyed, no thought to the survival of “little guy” across the street and certainly no thought to what the public thinks.

We “Mr/Mrs Joe Blow” public cannot win against the town council.

Look at the debacle over the Rangeville Herries St project.

Mr Meibush, I join you in your disgust and then there are the multitude of units being built on what was originally a one family residence.

But that is another story. — JNETTE HARVEY, Toowoomba
