Doughnut incident sparks funny post

A TOOWOOMBA man left a 7-Eleven with a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts “made out of sad,” after a confusing incident with the cashier.

Ethan Redmond shared his story on the 7-Eleven Facebook page which has more than 630,000 followers.

He starts out by saying how much he loves the stores and on Tuesday night he stopped by the 7-Eleven on the corner of West and Stenner Sts to pick up some Krispy Kreme doughnuts for his sick girlfriend.

“When I arrived at the store, I found that there were no more pre-made boxes. I asked the attendant if they had any more, to which he said no,” he said.

“‘No worries’, I thought. ‘I’ll make my own 12 pack’. I even double checked that there wasn’t a sign limiting the selection of such a box, and that all the doughnuts were the same price.

However when Mr Redmond headed to the register he was told the price was $32.

“I informed him about my desire for a 12 pack, and that the price is $23.”

Mr Redmond was then handed a pre-made 12 pack of assorted Krispy Kremes instead.

“Unfortunately, they were not the Krispy Kremes that I desired. I left the store, with a box full of disappointment. Doughnuts made out of sad are better than no doughnuts at all, after all.

“Now, if the attendant was correct in what he was saying, then I have but one suggestion: Maybe put some sort of indication on the display to prevent future disagreements.

“But, as there was no such indication, I believe that I have been slighted and would love for someone to reach out to me so we can discuss this further.”

Krispy Kreme was quick to respond, asking Mr Redmond to get in touch with the company and promising to look into it.
