Christmas Wonderland ..................................................

-

Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland is now in its 15th year, and this year will be as awe-inspiring as ever.

From Saturday, December 2, to Sunday, December 24, the Botanical Gardens in Queens Park will transform into a garden of twinkling lights and entertainment from 7pm to 10pm each night.

Last year saw over 90,000 visitors through the gates of this charity fundraiser event, with only one night washed out due to wet weather.

The three major charities shared $96,000 from the event, with over $5000 donated to smaller support organisations.

This year, the major beneficiaries will be Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Qld Ltd, Toowoomba Hospital Foundation, and Toowoomba Hospice.

Christmas Wonderland takes up to 41 volunteers to run each night, with roles from manning the entry gates and merchandise stands to operating the barbecue and looking after tea, coffee and ice-cream.

Entry is a gold coin donation, and there will also be donation tins for activities such as face painting, balloon animals and the tea/coffee station.

A barbecue will run each evening to fill hungry stomachs, and free ice-creams will be handed out to children.

There will also be nightly entertainment on the stage, as well as roving entertainers.

Why not bring your family and friends to this magical event this Christmas season?

Not only is it fun, but you’ll help the local community.
