A video of a Toowoomba man copping a bone-crunching tackle has attracted almost 50,000 hits on Facebook.

The Everything Rugby League page shared the video four days ago and it has been shared more than 100 times.

Star of the video, Toowoomba Valleys Roosters reserve grade player Tony Andrew said when his friends flagged the footage with him it had only been seen about 1000 times.

“Within 24 hours it had bumped up to 40,000. I was pretty amazed it actually had that many views,” he said.

The 27-year-old forward copped it on the chin.

“I thought it was pretty funny, like getting famous from getting knocked out,” he laughed.

Andrew is one of the smallest forwards in the Roosters reserves but is the first to run at the biggest opposition player.

“I’m in the middle that’s my job, run the ball hard and hit the big boppers and tire them out, give our halves a bit of a chance of getting the

ball wide,” Andrew said.

It has put him in the line of fire many times over the years but he said his biggest hit yet was against Dalby.

“The harder I get hit the faster I get up. I love it and just want another one,” he said.

However he said it took a little while to get back up after this one.

“Some you just have to take your time getting up,” he said.

“I’m pretty sure I went back on for a couple minutes at the end of the game.

“I was pretty dazed but I was good by the end of the night.”

Sporting a lump on his head the next week Andrew bounced back to play in the TRL reserve grade grand final.

Knowing almost 50,000 people have watched him get wiped out isn’t an issue.

“I think it’s hilarious someone put it out there, I would love to see it get to over 100,000 views,” Andrew said.
