Style NOTE
The festive season has arrived and the Style team is ringing it in joyously.
What a wonderful time of year — a time to celebrate the people you love and what you’re truly grateful for.
We have been really fortunate in this edition to meet some people who are incredibly grateful to be a part of the beautiful Toowoomba landscape.
We meet the Namazi family (p8 and 9), who are Afghan refugees from Iran.
Their heartwarming story is a wonderful addition to our end-of-year publication, alongside the tale and creative works of artist Jean Dwyer (p10 and 11), who creates stunning artworks from alcohol and paint.
Christmas is about togetherness, and we are really lucky on the Darling Downs that our community so firmly believes this.
Among our pages are some wonderful events that you can get involved in over the festive season.
Toowoomba’s Neighbourhood Christmas (p17) will be hosted on Christmas Day for those who might be having a hard time, particularly disadvantaged families, those suffering homelessness and anybody feeling lonely on the day without family.
Check out the Crave Christmas Spectacular (p18) in Highfields on December 16 for a great community event for all ages.
As usual, Style delivers its usual great reads, including a local couple who took their wedding to New York City — check out their spectacular pictures on p52.
We immerse ourselves in some Chinese culture (p56), and our lovely Lunar gives us a helping hand with what to get our loved ones according to their star sign (p66).
Stay safe and be well during the holidays, Stylers!
