We want your best snaps, send ‘em in

WE JUST love looking at photos here at the Rural Weekly. And who can blame us?

Country people are a good-looking bunch and our farming landscapes make the perfect backdrop for amateur and professional photographers alike.

And, if you throw in big-eared poddy calves, rustic (or shiny and new) machinery and hard-working, yet cute, bush kids you have a recipe for a great shot.

The Bush Banter page gives everyone the chance to have their best rural photos published - so, send them in!

But, before you do so, please help us out by following a few simple steps that make printing your photo a breeze for us.

■ For republication, size does matter. Please ensure all photos are emailed in a jpg format as the full-size image. We recommend pictures to be sent through that are more than 1MB in size. If your computer, or smartphone, gives you an option on what size you can send the image, please chose the biggest option. Don’t worry about our computers not being able to handle large files – it’s the bigger the better on our end. If your photo does appear to be on the small size, send it through anyway and we will let you know if our design team can make it work.

■ Names are essential. As a policy, we need to run full names for every person that’s printed in an image. While first and last names for people are essential, we also like reading the names for horses, cattle, dogs and any other animal that might be in the shot.

■ Let us know where the action took place. Please include the name of the photographer and time and place the image was shot. The more detail, the better. If it was a hot day, let us know the degrees, if it was during a storm, let us know how much rain you received. That’s it!
