All Toowoomba speedway fans want in the countdown to Christmas is a fine Saturday this weekend and it is one festive wish that looks set to be granted.

High-Tec Oils Speedway competitors and spectators are in for a belated racing feast on Saturday when the third annual Ultimate Pink Night finally gets under way after its wet-weather cancellation last month.

The meeting features the USC Qld Round Three Will Power 500, modified sedans and a 20-car field of wingless sprints.

Females of all ages are admitted free to the meeting with money raised on the night assisting breast cancer research.

Drivers chasing the perpetual Will Power 500 trophy include Toowoomba trio Peter Lack, Dave Whell and Andrew Scheuerle.

Event manager Ben Bishop welcomed the best weather forecast Toowoomba Speedway has struck this season, and was tipping a large crowd to be at an event that was “all about giving”.

“This is the season of giving, and the Toowoomba region is known nationally for its ability to roll up its sleeves and help others,” Bishop said.

“We’ve really battled with weather this season, and to have a clear forecast for the whole week has really boosted everyone’s enthusiasm.

“This event has raised over $10,000 in the past and we hope to keep increasing our contribution to a cause that has touched so many people.

“The only people who have to pay to get in to general admission are boys and men 13 years old and over.

“So that makes a very economical night for the family right in the thick of the Christmas season.”

Tickets are available at www.speedwaytickets or at the gate from 3pm with the opening ceremony from 6pm.
