There will be plenty of local league talent on show at the Brisbane Broncos and Gold Coast Titans trial next February.

But it won’t just be local products Andrew McCullough and Ashley Taylor on display.

matches.

TRL chairman Brian Gilroy said he looked forward to the big day of league action.

“It’s a great chance for us to celebrate rugby league in the region,” he said.

“We’re a rugby league town and it will be a big day - the game earlier this year was quite popular.”

Gilroy said the game was

modelled on league’s NRL All Stars v Indigenous All Stars concept.

“We’ve produced some wonderfully talented indigenous players over the years,” he said.

“This is a chance for us to honour them and the contributions of all footballers.”

The pre-season trial will

also provide representative selectors with an early look at our regional talent.

“We’re hosting the 47th Battalion Trophy carnival later this year,” Gilroy said.

“This game will give our selectors an early opportunity to look at some of the players who could form part of the Toowoomba team.”
