Young Jaymon will spend Christmas out of the ICU
IN SEPTEMBER Jaymon Gaul was fighting for his life after a deadly case of influenza.
But after months in hospital, his Christmas wish has finally come true.
The 10-year-old will be out of the Intensive Care Unit in time for Christmas Day.
THE family of 10-year-old Jaymon Gaul are celebrating their very own Christmas miracle this festive season.
After an ordeal that has lasted months the family of the young Chinchilla boy, who has been battling a deadly case of influenza since September, announced on Facebook that Jaymon would not spend Christmas day in the Intensive Care Unit.
“Jay has come a long way and is out of ICU again. He is such an amazing young boy who fought so hard. I am so proud of him and each day the strength he shows to keep getting better,” a Facebook post from his mum Tasha Millar said.
“Next step is learning to walk again and to do all the things he use to be able to do.”
With Jaymon’s condition improving, Ms Millar said that her son could be out of hospital within six weeks.
His remarkable recovery is a far cry from the dire situation he faced just last month; when he was re-admitted back into the ICU.
But young Jaymon still has a long road ahead of him.
“He no longer needs dialysis and in a year or two we will find out if he will need a kidney transplant but I am hopeful the damage (will heal),” Ms Millar said.
