United on high for Jets clash

-

ADELAIDE United will head into tonight’s A-League clash against Newcastle Jets on a high after re-signing star trio Ryan Kitto, Nathan Konstandopoulos and Nikola Mileusnic.

Mileusnic has agreed to a 12-month extension while fellow South Australians Kitto and Konstandopoulos have signed two-year deals.

“I’m very excited because it’s obviously the club I grew up loving and to know I’m going to be here for another two years is really great,” Kitto said.

“This is something that I’m proud of and I’m really happy here with all the boys and the coaching staff and

hopefully we can be successful in the near future.”

Kitto is likely to start at left back tonight in place of the suspended Ben Garuccio who was sent off in last weekend’s superb win over Melbourne Victory.

Daniel Adlung is also out suspended with Vinni Lia likely to start in his place.

Konstandopoulos, who has flourished since returning to his hometown club from Brisbane Roar, is set to retain his place in the midfield after starring in last week’s win.

“The boss (coach Marco Kurz) and the boys are excellent and hopefully we can go on to achieve big things this season,” he said.

While the fourth-placed Reds will be looking to build upon last week’s win, the Jets will be hoping they can maintain their form at home.

The Jets have lost just once at home this season.
