Roll up for a rocking festival

Big Skies to hit the Western Downs for a week of music, food and fun

-

THE sky is the limit for attendees of the first Big Skies festival on the Western Downs - a seven-day event offering plenty of country flair and internationally-acclaimed musical acts.

Delivered by Western Downs Regional Council, Big Skies will tak over Jimbour Station just out of Dalby from April 28-May 6, 2018, and will be a unique experience for travellers and locals. Best of all, it’s just an hour’s drive from the Toowoomba CBD. The hero of the event is Day on the Plain on Saturday May 5, which boasts some of Australia’s biggest household names: The Eurogliders, Wendy Matthews, Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows, Glenn Shorrock, Richard Clapton, Frankie J Holden and Wilbur Wilde.

Other signature events over the seven days include the Dalby Picnic Races, Big Night Sky – Guided tour of the Galaxy, Big Skies Hot Air Balloon Spectacular and Food and Fibre – a showcase of everything locally sown and grown.

Throughout the week, there’s plenty of free and paid events suitable for foodies, families and fashion-lovers, with out-of-town visitors having the option of camping packages at Jimbour Station or accommodation options across the region.
