Winners of the Treasurers trophy day were Ray Scurr and Nancy Hegarty. Runners up were Jackson Adams, Val Lindenmaye­r and N. Fitzgerald. A good roll up for last Sundays bowls and men’s trophy presentati­on with the Sunday winners and losers drawn off the cards. Coming events – Bowls Sunday, Decembre 24 at 12.30pm. Boxing Day bowls at 3pm. Sunday, January 21 Caldicott Shield with a start at 12.30pm. The Caldicott Shield is one of the oldest trophies played for on the Downs. North Toowoomba

Today is our usual men’s triples from 12.30pm. Visitors welcome please call 4639 2338 prior to 11.30am. Last weeks game was rained out, so green fees are waived for those players who missed out. Due to the bottom green being renovated, some games may have to be played as fours. Today’s Thursday ‘jackpot’ is over $300 plus a dollar for each of today’s players, must be present to win. As an added incentive, this is the last week of our Thursday Triples Series. Bartercard will be providing an opportunit­y for one player to win an accommodat­ion package at Couran Cove, Stradbroke Island. Each week you play you receive two chances in the draw. Play tomorrow on the final day and you’ll receive five chances in the draw. Club house and amenities will be open from 10am daily. Roll up or practice must be East – West, check with Bar staff. Next Tuesday mixed Jackpot pairs starting at 1pm. Names can be phoned in from 11am. Wednesday social bowls from 6.45pm with the warmer weather hopefully upon us. This is a great opportunit­y to introduce new players for a social evening of lawn bowls. Dates for the diary. The club’s 70th anniversar­y preparatio­ns are well under way for Friday, January 26. All club members and visitors are invited to participat­e. There will be a day of mixed bowls with great Prizes on offer. More informatio­n to follow.
