A MILLMERRAN man charged in relation to what police described as a violent armed robbery of a Darling Downs service station has had his case put before the Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

Justin Marc Watts, 27, was not required in court and remained in the watch house as duty solicitor Brad Skuse asked the court to adjourn the case until today.

Detectives on Monday charged the 27-year-old following investigations into the alleged armed robbery of a service station at Southbrook on January 4.

Police claim he was in the company of another man and that a gun was used to force entry into the service station before a male employee was allegedly threatened with demands for money and cigarettes.

The two men then allegedly left the business with a sum of cash and cigarettes in a car.

The accused has not as yet been required to enter any pleas to charges which include one count each of armed robbery in company, enter premise and commit an indictable offence, dangerous conduct with a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and failing to stop a vehicle.

A second man believed to be involved in the incident remained outstanding and police investigations were continuing.

There being no application for bail, the accused was remanded in custody to appear in court for mention today.
