INVESTIGATORS spent the day poring through what remained of a Western Downs home after it was razed early yesterday morning.

The Lytton St home at Warra, between Dalby and Chinchilla, was left a smouldering pile of rubble after a fire broke out sometime before 4am.

Auxiliary Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews from Jandowae and Chinchilla were deployed to the property but reported it had been “burnt to the ground” before they arrived on scene.

No-one was inside the home at the time of the fire.

Paramedics were put on standby at the property but were not required to treat or transport anyone at the scene.

A QFES spokeswoman said crews reported the fire was extinguished by 4.35am.

It was the first of two structure fires reported to authorities yesterday.

A concerned neighbour reported smoke billowing from the windows of a home undergoing renovations at Clifton about 6am.

It was the second reported structure fire yesterday morning after a neighbour reported smoke billowing from windows of an abandoned house at Clifton shortly after 6am.

Crews from Allora and Clifton reported the fire, which had been located in a wall opposite a water heater inside a cupboard of the Kate St home, was extinguished by 6.30am.

No other property had been threatened by the fire.

Investigators yesterday were yet to determine the cause of the fires.
