Twins double the fun for school teachers
IT WILL be double the trouble for Mater Dei Primary School when four sets of twins arrive ready for their first year of school on Monday.
The twins - Graziella and Angelica Augusto, Hugo and Max Brownsdon, Charlotte and Aidan Fitzgibbons and Helena and Georgia Saunders - are among the school’s 75 new prep students.
Helena and Georgia’s mother Lucy Williams said it been a big lead-up getting her girls ready for their first day.
“It has been preparing for a couple of weeks now. But we are all ready, books are done, uniforms are done, just need to start on Monday,” she said.
Ms Williams said it would also be double the emotion for her, to see her youngest children off to school.
Principal Chris Bartlett said the twins would be spread out across three prep classes, in what was an exciting time for families and the children as well.
While he didn’t know the possibility of getting four sets of twins in one year level - it was a first for him in his 17 years as a principal.
“Well, it depends on the twins of course,” Mr Bartlett said of whether the twins would be double trouble.
“I guess the trouble comes when teachers, and particularly me as a principal when there are 440 kids in a school, are starting to work out the difference between the twins,” he said.
“Our guys put a lot of time and effort and love into their job. They will be ready for Monday. It will be a great year for these twins and all the other students.”
