Welcome new principals

AS STUDENTS prepare to go back to school next week, there are a number of new school principals who are also getting ready for their first day.

The Queensland Department of Education has revealed there will be 11 new school principals for state schools in the region this year.

“The Darling Downs South West region is welcoming the following principals who are newly permanentl­y appointed to Darling Downs South West schools this year,” a Department of Education Queensland spokespers­on said.

The principals are situated right across the region from Toowoomba to the Western Downs and further afield, catering to small and large state schools.

This year’s new state school principals will be:

Ms Belinda Waterford, Hannaford State School

Miss Cheryl Harvey, Windera State School

Mrs Michelle Emery, Arcadia Valley State School

Ms Veronica Kostachuk, St George State School

Ms Elizabeth Cumming, Proston State School

Mr Daryl Boundy, Harlin State School

Mr Masina Taule’alo, Charlevill­e State School

Mrs Susan Evans, Ballandean State School

Mr Lars de Gier, Southbrook Central State School

Ms Marie Klein, Bungunya State School

Mr Joshua Seaniger, Wilsonton State School

This year’s school year begins on Monday.
