Brazilian eager to face new challenge
SOCCER: When Brazilian Thiago Kosloski first visited Toowoomba he instantly fell in love with the Garden City.
The former professional soccer player, who was leading Toowoomba Grammar School coaching clinics at the time, told his wife this was where they would live and raise their family.
“I am very happy and very proud to be here and to be part of this family,” he said.
“I remember the first time I visited Toowoomba, especially this school (Grammar), I said to my family when I come back to Brazil one day we will live here. The city is amazing, the school is amazing, we love this place.”
A joint effort between Grammar, Fairholme College, University of Southern Queensland and South West Queensland Thunder helped bring Kosloski to Australia on a more permanent basis.
Aside from his role as technical director to Grammar’s 9A soccer side Kosloski will study Academic English at USQ and hopes to extend his stay.
“We have the opportunity to stay here for 12 months and I expect we will stay here for many many years because I have my family with me now,” Kosloski said.
“We have the opportunity to bring my daughter to study here at a school like Fairholme and that for us is the most important point.”
Kosloski hopes his simple approach to soccer will help enhance the future of Grammar’s program.
“My philosophy is very simple we teach our players to resolve the problem all the time,” he said.
“Football is a problem so we have to teach our kids organisation. I believe in beautiful football, the technique and the skills and helping each other in the game.”
