SHOWS APLENTY AT WEST END

-

The best way to deal with the weary feet you’ll inevitably have from exploring the city is to take in a West End show (or two).

The premier theatre district of London is a maze of about 40 theatres, some dating back to the 1800s.

With this many shows hosting dozens of headline and small productions, there is something for everyone.

If there’s something you’re especially keen to see, like The Book of Mormon ,or you want to make sure you get premium seats, book online before you arrive.

But if you’re happy to take a lucky dip or simply can’t choose between productions, visit the TKTS booth in Leicester Square for last-minute discount tickets.

Although some shows will have specific run dates, there are also dozens that run continuously, including Wicked, The Phantom

of the Opera and Kinky Boots.

If show tunes aren’t your style, there are also endless plays to choose from.

A West End institution and tourist attraction in its own right is Agatha Christie’s

The Mousetrap at St Martin’s Theatre. Continuously running since 1952, The

Mousetrap has been performed more than 27,000 times – a counter updated each night will tell you which performance you’re attending.

The play is based on a short story, which was based on a radio play.

The classic whodunit is gripping from start to finish, the perfect cosy English murder mystery to top off your time in London.
