ON BEHALF of The Petbarn Foundation, Greencross Vets, City Farmers and Petbarn Toowoomba, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the local Toowoomba community for their generosity in supporting The Petbarn Foundation’s annual Tree of Hope Appeal, which raised much needed funds to help animals in need.

The Tree of Hope Appeal, which kicked off in November, ran across Petbarn/City Farmers stores and Greencross clinics nationally for six weeks and encouraged Aussie animal lovers to dig deep by dropping into their local Petbarn/City Farmers store or Greencross Vets clinic and purchase a $3, $5 or $10 Christmas decoration.

I am thrilled to announce that $5629 was raised for pets in need thanks to the efforts and generosity of Toowoomba residents throughout the appeal.

Collectively, the Petbarn Foundation’s Tree of Hope Appeal raised an enormous $878,000 nationwide which will go directly towards saving the lives of animals across the country.

All funds raised through the appeal will go directly to helping local animal rescue groups continue their work supporting animals, including providing care and treatment for sick, injured, lost and abandoned animals, rescuing animals in crisis and educating people on responsible pet ownership. Some of the organisations involved in the appeal include RSPCA, Cat Haven, Pets Haven Foundation and Friends of the Pound, just to name a few.

The Petbarn Foundation, which is the charitable arm of Petbarn and Greencross Vets, was established by Australia’s leading pet care company, Greencross Group Limited, to raise funds to actively support pet welfare groups. Since launching in 2012, more than $7.3 million has been raised for animal welfare initiatives.

We would like to thank the Toowoomba community again for taking part in this year’s Tree of Hope Appeal. Our aim of helping thousands of animals in need would not have been possible without your support.
