1. Summer Tunes

WHEN: Tomorrow, 1am and noon WHERE: Various parks

HEAD to one of your favourite local parks for some laid-back entertainm­ent.

A range of bands will be playing in Queens Park, Laurel Bank Park, Picnic Point and Newtown Park for residents to enjoy for free.

2. Mingle grand opening

WHEN: Today, 7.30am-3pm WHERE: 353 Ruthven St

MINGLE will officially open it’s doors to Toowoomba this Saturday.

Mingle is all about healthy food choices and the menu has something for everyone, from Nutri Hitt Raw Treats, Mojo Kombucha, wraps, smoothies, organic coffee and of course what everyone is talking about... Cocowhip.

Come and check out Toowoomba’s new place to be.

3. Gin Sanity

WHEN: Today, noon-10pm WHERE: Blank Space (Mills Precinct, Ruthven St)

GIN Sanity will feature a select range of Australian and internatio­nal gins, with each brand making a classic G&T plus a signature cocktail of their choice.

The line-up already includes Sipsmith Distillery, Whitley Neill, Archie Rose and The Botanist, with more brands being announced.

Gin has been on the up for a while now, so come along and either enjoy your favourite spirit or come along and see if you’re a new convert.

4. Pop-up jazz club

WHEN: Tonight, 6pm-8pm WHERE: Ground Up Espresso, 501 Ruthven St

POP UP Jazz Club is brought to you by incredibly talented jazz outfit, The Magnificen­ce and Ground Up Espresso Bar.

Enjoy an evening of New Orleans-inspired soul food and music in the laneway.

Ticket includes two hours of authentic New Orleans jazz.

Dinner and drinks will be available to buy on the night.

5. Farmers’ market

WHEN: Today, 7am-1pm WHERE: Under the windmills near Cobb and Co, Lindsay St

MY LOCAL Feast provides a wonderful opportunit­y to buy direct from farmers and local food artisans.

Every single stall has a direct link back to a local farm and every stall supports local farming families.

A great opportunit­y to buy seasonal produce, local meats, hand-made bread, pasta, jams, salts, honey, milk and locally grown herbs and salad items.

6. Craft Alive

WHEN: Today and tomorrow, 9am-5pm

WHERE: Clive Berghofer Stadium, Arthur St

ENJOY craft of all ranges and craft for all ages.

Exhibitors have everything from supplies to finished goods, covering a wide range of craft.

The show will feature 60-100 exhibitors, workshops, make and takes, demonstrat­ions, a full cafe, and the local guilds and groups. 7. House and land expo WHEN: Today, 9am-2pm WHERE: Harvey Norman Electrical car park

COME along to Dymocks on Saturday for a chance to meet Meshel Laurie and grab a signed copy of her latest book “Buddhism for the Unbelievab­ly Busy”.

Meshel was a Toowoomba local, but now resides in Melbourne and works in TV and radio, podcasts, writes columns and books, and parents six-year-old twins.

9. Chinese New Year WHEN: Today, 4.30pm

WHERE: Pure Land Learning

College, West St

HEAD to Pure Land Learning College and enjoy a simple Chinese new Year program with the welcome by the traditiona­l Lion Dance and the Caledonian Pipe Band.

There will also be cultural performanc­e and a buffet vegetarian meal for all guests.

10. Unschoolin­g informatio­n session WHEN: Tomorrow, 10am-2.15pm WHERE: Toowoomba City
