CROWS NEST

-

Wednesday, February 14 Valentine's Day bowls was won by Keith Herbertson and Daryl Fraser, while runners-up went to Tony Ryan and Terry Bowe.

Results of 2017-18 intra-club matches played on Saturday February 17 were: Final of Open Singles - Rob Mortimer d Kerry Lovell (congratulations Rob); Open Triples - Alan Richardson, Col Tonscheck and Pat Knowles d Brett Case, Bill Kruger and Roger Haldane; Mixed Pairs - Shane Case and Aileen Cox wof Dennis Russell and Joyce McGeorge.

No 2017-18 intraclub matches have been called for Saturday, February 24 because the Heritage Bank Crows Nest Men's Fours Carnival is being played over that weekend. Sunday, February 18 Silverwood Tyres Day was taken out by Shane Case and Lachlan Barnes, and runners-up was claimed by Trevor Gillies, Esbert Ehrlich and Brian Gleeson. Many thanks to Brian Gleeson and Silverwood Tyres for their continued support of this annual event.

Last Tuesday's community night bowls was washed out because of the storm and windy conditions. All will be back to normal on Tuesday, February 20. Remember, the burgers are tasty, the competition is friendly and the winners are still drawn out-of-the-hat.

Coming events:Saturday/Sunday February 24 and 25 - Heritage Bank Crows Nest Men's Fours Bowls Carnival; Sunday, March 4 - The Hine Family Day; Sunday, March 11 - Town and Country.

The next management committee meeting of the club is scheduled for Sunday, March 11 at 9.30am in the clubhouse.

In closing, new bowls players and visitors are always welcome at the Crows Nest Bowls Club. Feel free to contact Gary on bakescrowsnest @live.com.auor on 4698 2197.
